Health & Safety Manager

Description:

Seeking a Health & Safety Management Professional with underground natural gas transmission installation, underground water transmission installation and private sector paving experience for the Connecticut region. The Health & Safety Professional shall be responsible for supporting our natural gas main, water installation and private sector crews, supporting our host utility companies target safety goals, ensuring that all State & Federal safety compliance requirements are satisfied. Including OSHA & MSHA.


Responsibilities:

Oversee our gas, water and private sector installation crews Perform daily safety observations & audits of job sites MSHA & OSHA reporting ISN Safety Network Management Conduct Monthly safety meetings & tool box talks Write and conduct Daily Job Briefs Perform Risk/Hazard assessments Perform on Job Training (OJT’s) Use of SMS (Safety Management System) Oversight of OQ (Operator Qualifications) Management of both PHMSA & FMCSA programs Safety staff oversight - currently two at the engineer / inspector level

Requirements:

5 + years of experience in a safety professional position with an emphasis on underground utility installation. Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of applicable occupational safety & health regulations Excellent written, verbal and electronic communications skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications OSHA 10 or 30 hr. Construction Safety and Health certificate (Train the Trainer) First Aid/CPR/AED training Understanding of underground gas utilities Operator Qualifications (OQ’s) a necessity Understanding of QA/QC programs CUSP – Gas Endorsement

Salary:

$125,000 +/- DOE
