Quality Control Technician

Description:

This is a great opportunity to learn and grow in the road construction industry. Quality Control plays an integral part in creating and producing a successful asphalt paving project. Quality Control Field Technicians are responsible for tasks on the job site and in the asphalt manufacturing lab. Previous experience in the paving industry, asphalt and material testing skills are preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate. Multiple positions available. Responsibilities:

  • Follow safety protocols
  • Laboratory testing to ensure conformance standards
  • Quality control of products at the point of production, shipping and arrival on the jobsite
  • Test methods include but not limited to DOT regulations.
  • Communicate and document results of tasks to the appropriate people
  • Perform jobsite inspection, customer service and troubleshooting as needed
  • Prepare QC reports
  • Formulating specific recommendations to resolve or correct quality issues
  • Visually inspecting stockpiles, materials sources, plant and truck loads
  • Maintain accurate, timely records of test data, product quality, and defective materials
  • Perform various tests in an orderly, efficient, and accurate manner
  • Perform incidental work items and duties included within other crafts

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Class C driving license, in good standing
  • Ability to show up to work consistently and on time
  • Eager to learn, ask questions, and adapt on a regular basis
  • Ability to make decisions in high intensity situations
  • Good math skills
  • Basic computer skills, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to self-motivate and be perseverant
  • Great attention to detail
  • Previous experience in the paving industry, asphalt and material testing skills are preferred, though training will be provided for the right candidate.

$60 - $100 DOE
