VP Fleet Manager

Description:

Well established, 50+yr, self-perform Heavy Hwy General Contractor in upper Midwest seeking a Vice President (VP) to oversee all facets of equipment operations. This VP will formulate procurement strategies, improve preventative maintenance programs, refine and implement best practices for all key data related to each unit in 400+ pieces of yellow iron and over-the-road vehicles fleet. Must excel at representing the company's brand in front of vendors & suppliers, industry associations, etc. Seeking a self-motivated, well-organized individual with 15 years of experience in roles centered around heavy equipment procurement. Must be proficient with technology. Additional details will be immediately furnished to potentially well-qualified individuals.


Responsibilities:

Know, communicate and enforce Corporate Safety Plan and Policies. Manage the equipment acquisition and disposal process including purchase vs. rental decisions and life cycle analysis. Work closely with the Accounting department in equipment financing decisions. Supervise the repair and maintenance programs and equipment operations including the parts/supplies warehouse and shop facilities management in an effort to improve efficiency, productivity, cost control and effectiveness. Supervise the Equipment Manager and assist in the development and growth of the equipment management staff. Manage relationships with vendors to insure we are receiving the best pricing and service on purchases of equipment, parts, supplies, fuel and repair services. Develop internal equipment billing rates and review periodically to determine they adequately reflect actual costs. Oversee scheduling and work closely with V.P. Public and V.P. Private for the best utilization of all equipment and evaluation of new equipment needs. Review utilization of equipment to manage the usage, purchase, sale and movement of equipment. Communicate with all departments to determine each other’s needs and to coordinate actions for the benefit of all. Participate in compiling and reviewing annual budgets and managing monthly cost reporting. Remain Instrumental in the hiring, training, developing, mentoring and evaluating of all equipment personnel with an emphasis on finding, training and retaining qualified mechanics. Share regular updates with the senior management team and with the Advisory Board at the quarterly meetings and as requested. Utilize data analytics where appropriate to evaluate performance and make informed decisions. Provide superior customer service in all aspects of its operations. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience 10 years fleet management experience Strong experience in Microsoft Office Suite FMCSA experience From the upper midwest - local market knowledge essential

Salary:

100,000 - 150,000 DOE
