Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Sitework

Description:

Well established, Atlanta based heavy civil / sitework contractor fully outfitted with industry leading technology & tools is adding a Project Manager (PM) to its' operations team. The PM will act as the primary point of contact with clients, engineers, vendors and subcontractors on a daily basis. The PM will utilize company resources and processes to plan and execute the work to meet the goals of safety, quality and productivity on each project. Successful applicants will have a track record of overseeing multiple, concurrent projects, will be well-organized and capable of reprioritizing key tasks to be executed on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

Broad range of responsibilities include reviewing estimate files and understanding the bid strategies used to win the work, having a complete understanding of the contract schedule, milestones & damages and the selected subcontractors & vendors used in the bid. The PM will own the budget, have a clear understanding of key risks, develop a gameplan to monitor identified risks while continuously communicating with field leadership about identified risks and any other cost related issues that potentially impact the project financials. Key administrative tasks include cashflow analysis, scheduling and schedule updates, verifying quantities, drafting & executing change orders and communicating monthly projections to executive leadership. Will also be visible at weekly jobsite meeting and safety meetings sending a message to the field team members that a team approach to executing work is a key building block in the company's overall culture.

Requirements:

Required skills begin with the communication skills and self-awareness skills necessary to build winning relationships with vendors & subcontractors, engineers, clients, public agencies and industry associations.  Additionally, the right person for this role will be effective using technology platforms such as Viewpointe accounting software and Trimble Business Center for administrative tasks and project documents. Well qualified applicants will have 7+ years of experience working for a self-perform heavy hwy / sitework contractor in some combination of project engineering, project coordinator or project management roles. A BS in Construction Mgmnt., Engineering or Business is preferred but not required. A successful track record of managing heavy civil construction projects and teams will trump other qualification factors.

Salary:

110k - 150k base salary, auto allowance & fuel card + full range of comprehensive benefits (details to be provided to qualified individuals)
