As Lead Project Manager, this role will require consistent travel throughout the upper Midwest Region of IL / IN / OH / MO. Primary responsibilities start with overall management and execution of field operations and contract administration on roadway projects ranging in size & complexity from $50MM-$250MM. Responsibilities:
Primary responsibilities include:
- full cycle oversight and execution of change orders, scope changes, claims & project delays. Resolve dispute resolutions with owner in a timely and compliant manner.
- lead communication with all project stakeholders including executive leadership, field supervision and all onsite team members, DOT representatives, design firms, JV partners, subcontractors and union representatives.
- understanding and execution of all scheduling activities and how and who will be impacted by changes and delays in schedule.
- managing vendor and subcontractor relations including solutions for schedule delays and cost overruns.
- maintaining accurate, up to date project financials including costs reporting, costs completes, overall project forecasts and quarterly soft closes.
- risk management journal addressing key items potentially impacting schedule & profit margins.
- establish a level of expectations and comradery for all staff members on site to follow.
- interview and make recommendations to company leadership for project level hires including Superintendents, Lead Foreman & Project Engineers and actively participate in successful onboarding for each new hire.
Requirements:
Requirements include the following to be considered:
- 12+ yrs of experience with self-perform heavy civil contractors that built road and bridge projects that included mass excavation, drainage, paving and structures.
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred
- Schedule and budget oversight of at least two heavy hwy projects north of $50MM.
- a deep understanding of and participation on multiple large roadway projects including the the ability to plan the sequence of work, build / edit complex schedules and have an understanding of DOT spec's and QC standards.
- capable of participation in bid reviews and taking the lead on review of any 1 of the 3: structures (bridges, walls, culverts), mass excavation & drainage, concrete paving.
- proficiency with standard industry technologies such as HCSS, Primavera, Viewpoint
- excellent communication skills and a team approach to management and engagement with all project stakeholders.
