Financial Analyst – Construction

Large $500M + Heavy Highway General Contractor & Materials Producer opening up a brand new position reporting to the CFO. FINANCIAL ANALYST
The Financial Analyst will support the organization by establishing the FP&A function. This includes short-term cash planning, short and long-term financial plans, and analysis of historical financial results in order to identify and explain trends and variances. The candidate must have excellent analytical capabilities, a high level of energy, and a passion for excellence and continuous improvement.


Responsibilities:

Assist in monthly financial closing, to include preparation of general ledger account reconciliations and analysis of financial results to identify and explain variances Analyze financial results to identify and explain trends in order to provide critical insights to managers, and identify opportunities for improvements and savings Act as the owner for financial reporting and analysis systems Manage legal contracts database and review for accounting requirements Prepare short-term cash forecasts Establish and monitor annual budgets and long-term financial plans Partner with managers to establish and justify capital expenditure plans and monitor actual expenditures Partner with managers to establish KPI’s and provide ad-hoc reports and analyses Participate in some aspects of the Treasury function to ensure compliance Provide internal audit capabilities Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports for external stakeholders Participate in planning and due diligence for acquisitions

Requirements:

Analytical focus to be able to identify trends, discover causes of variances, and identify improvement opportunities Sophisticated skills with standard office software (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint); experience with Prophix and Crystal Reports is helpful Commitment to continuous improvement Proactive nature, with a sense of urgency to handle multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment Ability to analyze and follow detailed procedures, propose new procedures as needed Demonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships across the organization. Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective presentation capabilities BS in Accounting or Finance required 3-5 years of FP&A experience in a large, multi-divisional organization, is required Some experience with M & A is helpful Some experience in accounting is helpful

Salary:

$70K - $100K DOE
