Traveling Project Manager – Heavy Hwy
Description:
Top 100 ENR General Contractor in growth mode is adding Project Managers that are willing to travel to its Operations Group. A comprehensive compensation package will include a competitive base salary (DOE) ranging from $150K to $220k + truck / fuel card + monthly living allowance + full range of benefits including sign on bonus, medical coverage, project & company performance bonus and consistent trips home every other week (3 full days at home).
Projects will range in size from $40MM to $400MM, both bid / build and D/B delivery method with primary scopes of work being roadways (rehab & new), bridges, concrete paving, rail work (bridges, track, intermodal yards), MSE Walls, drainage & misc. scopes.
Initial project assignments will be in the upper Midwest or southwestern US (depending on home base, company will always attempt to accommodate by assigning to project sites as close as possible to homebase)
Qualified individuals with be provided a thorough overview of the company, backlog, targeted markets of growth (geographically & specific projects). Qualified individuals will be provided an opportunity to also bring any key Superintendents along. Top quality project teams are being assembled and the organization understands the value of having the Project Manager have other trusted supervision on site with him/her that have a history of building successful projects together.

Responsibilities:
- extensive involvement with Estimating Team to plan and schedule the work to be performed on site.
- involvement in assembling project team to ensure appropriate staffing on site for execution of work & exceeding set safety standards.
- financial monitoring and reporting including cost & revenue projections, change order logs, billing reports, vendor and subcontractor invoicing.
- collaboration with Project Superintendents to identify & procure necessary equipment to site and means & methods to execute work.
- maintain cost accounting, schedule changes, change order logs and communications logs for timely reference.
- oversight of subcontractors, engineering & QC firms on site
- oversight of project engineers and ensuring staff is documenting submittals, RFI's, site meeting minutes and work plans.
- building any necessary relationships in the area in order to complete a quality project on time.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Field Engineer, Project Superintendent, General Superintendent, Field Operations Manager with a General Contractor that has been the Prime GC on Heavy Hwy projects of at least $40MM in project value.
- Thorough understanding of CPM scheduling & functional understanding of job cost accounting is required.
- Proficient with some combination of HCSS Heavy Job, Microsoft Project, P6, Build2Win or Procore
- Must be willing to travel extensively
- Must be a team leader with a track record of being able to motivating / leading others.
